Dress Code

Uniform, School Dress, and Modesty Policies 

 

Calvary Christian School requires uniforms for all students, Pre-K through 12th grade. Uniforms benefit our school and students in several ways, including creating a spirit of unity, reflecting a professional and modest standard, and establishing a disciplined learning environment. Uniforms are to be worn on school grounds and while participating in an official capacity at school functions (field trips, community involvement, etc.). School staff can approve exceptions. Uniform polos are purchased through CCS. 

  • All students, Monday -Thursday: CCS polo shirt (navy or charcoal grey) worn with or without solid color (white, grey, navy, or black) long-sleeve shirt underneath. 

  • All students, Monday - Thursday:  CCS hoodie or sweatshirt or black, navy, or charcoal grey non-CCS sweatshirt (small logo on the shirt is allowed) is optional on cool weather days. 

 

  • All Students, Every Day: 

  • Girls: 

    • Fitted, solid color jeans or denim pants (navy, black, or khaki with minimal “bling” on back pockets and with no holes, tears, or fraying) NO leggings,  jeggings, or stretch pants allowed 

    • Fitted solid color flat-front or pleated cotton or cotton blend twill or chino slacks in navy, black, or khaki; solid color or pleated, long, or A-line cotton or cotton-blend twill,chino, or jean skirts, skorts, or shorts in navy, black, or khaki that are no shorter than 3” above the knee or longer (with no holes, tears, or fraying)

  • Boys: 

    • Fitted solid color jeans or denim pants (navy, black, or khaki with no holes, tears, or fraying); 

    • Fitted solid color flat-front or pleated cotton or cotton-blend twill or chino slacks in navy, black, or khaki; 

    • Solid color flat-front cotton, cotton-blend twill, chino shorts in navy, black, or khaki

    • Fitted solid color jeans or denim shorts (navy, black, or khaki with no holes, tears, or fraying) that are no shorter than 3” above the knee. 

 

General Dress Guidelines: 

  • Students should have a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. 

  • Hair color, hair accessories, and makeup should be modest.

  • Hair extensions should match natural hair color. 

  • Pierced jewelry must be tasteful and modest, no cuffs, gauges, or implants. 

  • Clothing should be as well fitted without being too tight, revealing, or saggy. 

  • Sandals are required to have a strap on the back for all K-6th graders. 

  • Pocket knives are allowed only for 9-12th and should never be misused or displayed in a questionable manner. There is zero tolerance for misuse of a pocket knife. 

  • No sweat pants, sports pants, sports/gym shorts, leggings, jeggings, etc., except for PE. 

  • No hats or ball caps in Pre-K through 6th; however, are allowed in 7th-12th per teacher preference, but never in chapel. 

  • No clothing or personal items brought to school should display anything vulgar, violent, illegal, or contrary to our Christian values. 

  • Appropriate gym wear must be worn for physical education classes or athletic practices and should be modest in length and appearance. 

 

**If a student does not have the proper uniform on when arriving at school they will be asked to call home and have the proper uniform brought to them
